Church View is a detached Victorian house on a quiet street in the bustling Stoneygate area of Leicester. It has eight en suite bedrooms for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs and individuals are encouraged to personalise their rooms. The communal areas are spacious and comfortably furnished and the carefully designed garden is popular and well used during the warmer months.
The kitchen is designed to provide a safe, practical but welcoming environment that enables each individual to maintain their existing skills and develop new ones. We encourage everyone to be involved in food preparation and cooking, staff members providing each person with the level of support and assistance they require. As in any family, the kitchen is the heart of the home but the whole of Church View provides a comfortable home for all who live here.
Each member of the team at Church View has undergone extensive mandatory training and holds qualifications recognised within the learning disability and care sectors.
Every person who lives at Church View has a member of staff who is their key worker and a person-centred support plan which is regularly reviewed to ensure that all members of staff offer the correct level of support and encouragement as the individual’s needs and interests change. Every member of the team is committed to ensuring Church View provides truly excellent care and support for everyone who chooses to make their home with us.
We encourage all who live at Church View to participate in the world around them and supporting them in the community is a very important and enjoyable part of our work. We have our own vehicle but the thriving centre of Stoneygate is only a short walk away and the centre of Leicester itself can be reached in just a short bus ride or ten minutes’ walk. The city offers an abundance of shopping centres, theatres, cinemas and eating places of all cultures.
Sporting facilities, such as tennis courts, swimming pools and gyms, can be found within short distances and all are readily available for individuals to access on a long or short term basis. The nearest park is five minutes’ walk away and Bradgate Country Park, which is renowned for its beautiful scenery and offers sanctuary to red deer, is only 30 minutes away.
