I have worked for many years supporting adults with complex needs and have gained considerable experience in a variety of roles. I’ve always had a sort-of natural flair for supporting others to lead an active life and help them access the range of opportunities the community offers. My knowledge, skills and experience in all aspects of caring for adults with learning disabilities has made me rigorous and thorough in my attention to detail in everything from the observation and care of each individual to implementing Government legislation. I expect no less from my staff team. I’ve always been self-motivated and had high expectations of myself. I try to set the best example to my team, encouraging everyone to be the best they can be, whilst reassuring them they are supported – just as they support the Service Users.
Outside work I’ve always enjoyed a variety of sporting activities, including football, running and the odd game of golf. I used to coach a youth football team but, nowadays, I like to spend what spare time I have with my wife and three children.
